Up to $5,000+ off a heat pump install.
Stacked from three different programs. We file the paperwork.
Oregon homeowners installing a qualifying heat pump can stack rebates from Energy Trust of Oregon, the federal 25C tax credit, and manufacturer seasonal incentives. The math gets complicated, the paperwork gets thick, and most contractors won't help you with either. Tru72 is an active ETO Trade Ally, runs Manual J on every install (required for ETO), and files the paperwork at install. The rebate check shows up at your door.
Stacking the math.
Each program is separate. They combine on the same install.
Three layers of incentives can apply to the same heat pump install. They are not mutually exclusive. The trick is meeting the eligibility requirements for each, which most contractors don't bother with. Tru72 builds the install plan to satisfy all three.

These are the ETO rebate amounts for the most common qualifying installs as of the current program year. Amounts change annually and equipment-specific eligibility lists rotate. Tru72 confirms current eligibility during the estimate.
Four steps. We handle most of them.
Your job is to sign two papers and cash the check.
1
Estimate visit
We run Manual J, identify which ETO and federal credits apply, and quote the install with rebate-eligible equipment.
2
You sign the install agreement
The agreement notes which rebates the install qualifies for and the expected stacked amount. No surprise filings later.
3
We install & file
At install completion, we submit the ETO paperwork directly. You get a copy. For federal 25C, we hand you the documentation packet for your tax return.
4
The check arrives
Energy Trust of Oregon mails the rebate directly to you, typically 4-8 weeks after install. Manufacturer rebates follow 6-10 weeks later.
Southwest Washington homes
ETO doesn't cross the Columbia.
Different programs, same install standard.
If your home is in Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Washougal, or La Center, Energy Trust of Oregon rebates do not apply. The federal 25C tax credit still does. Clark Public Utilities offers heat pump rebates for residential customers. Manufacturer seasonal promotions stack on top.
Tru72 confirms the right rebate landscape during the estimate based on your address. We file what we can file and document the rest for your tax preparer.
Frequently Asked
Rebate questions.
What Oregon homeowners ask before scheduling.
What's the maximum I can save with Oregon HVAC rebates?
On a qualifying ducted heat pump install in Oregon, a homeowner can typically stack $1,500-$3,000 from Energy Trust of Oregon, up to $2,000 from the federal 25C tax credit, and $300-$1,500 from manufacturer seasonal promotions. Total stacked incentives can exceed $5,000 on the right install. Ductless mini-split rebates from ETO are typically $500-$2,000 per system. Tru72 calculates the maximum stack during the in-home estimate and files all paperwork on your behalf.
Does Energy Trust of Oregon require a Manual J load calculation?
Yes. ETO heat pump rebates require a documented load calculation (Manual J or equivalent) to verify correct sizing. Installs without one cannot file for ETO. Tru72 runs Manual J on every install and includes the documentation in the rebate filing automatically.
Do Oregon rebates apply to SW Washington homes?
No. Energy Trust of Oregon rebates apply only to homes in Oregon. SW Washington homeowners (Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Washougal, La Center) access different programs: the federal 25C tax credit, Clark Public Utilities heat pump rebates, and manufacturer incentives. Tru72 confirms which programs apply during the in-home estimate.
Does Tru72 file the rebate paperwork or do I have to?
Tru72 files Energy Trust of Oregon paperwork at install on your behalf. Our team is an active ETO Trade Ally, which authorizes us to submit installs directly. For federal 25C tax credits, you claim the credit on your tax return using IRS Form 5695; we provide the documentation you'll need (manufacturer model number, installation date, total install cost). For manufacturer rebates, we file on your behalf when the program allows.
How long does it take to receive the ETO rebate?
Typical processing is 4-8 weeks from install completion to check arrival. Energy Trust of Oregon mails the rebate directly to the homeowner, not to Tru72. The federal 25C tax credit is claimed on your tax return for the year of installation, so the timing depends on when you file.
Can I get an ETO rebate on a furnace replacement?
Generally no. Energy Trust of Oregon has phased out most furnace-only rebates as Oregon shifts toward electrification. The strongest rebate path is converting from a gas furnace to a heat pump (or dual fuel heat pump). High-efficiency gas furnace rebates may still exist seasonally; we confirm current eligibility during the estimate.
What's the income-qualified Oregon rebate?
Energy Trust of Oregon offers enhanced "income-qualified" rebates for households at or below 80% of area median income. These can roughly double the standard ETO heat pump rebate. Documentation of income eligibility is required. Tru72 can help you determine eligibility and submit the income-qualified application.
